A Tapestry of Harris Park

The longest and largest mural in the Parramatta area with a length of about 120 metres on the railway wall of the Western Line, this artwork along Station Street East is a celebration of food, culture and community. Throughout community consultation, the artwork captures the voices, stories and lived experiences of the multicultural Harris Park community. Over five weeks, the artists engaged with the community, including having a community paint session and a school group tour. The artwork's location marks a gateway into Little India, the Harris Park Cultural Precinct.

Inspired by Harris Park’s transformation from sunrise to nightfall, the mural blends Indian and Australian elements throughout and captures everything from the Parramatta River and native wildlife to bustling food scenes and festivals – a tribute to Harris Park’s iconic Little India while reflecting stories of migration, adaptation and belonging.
