The artwork was developed in collaboration with Sunshine Coast Council, traditional landowners, local residents, and the broader Sunshine Coast community. The Point Cartwright Reservoir artwork was renewed in April 2022 to enhance its depth and to strengthen its connection to the space and the people around it. The artwork elevates the water to submerge several trees atop the hill, while sea creatures and marine line swim throughout. The design aims to capture the tranquillity felt when gazing out to sea.
There are several information points about some of the featured aquatic life, such as sea turtles, the Humpback whale, Eastern Osprey, and the Bunya Pine.
