The Singing of the Saws

The artwork features two elements which would have been everyday sounds in Cribb Street a century ago; timber saws singing out from the mill and the railway bell, which was used to alert of train departures and to announce the end of WWII. Around these elements, foliage and blossoms are featured from the Bunya Pine, Red Cedar and White Beech, which were significant tree species to both the timber industry in Landsborough and to the local Indigenous people.

The artwork forms part of the Landsborough Heritage Walk, inspired by the region's history.
