Kingfisher at Wave Rock

This work was developed by the artist in collaboration with the Marrickville Golf Club team as well as Council's Urban Ecology team. Thomas carefully researched and considered the Sacred Kingfisher chosen for this work. The species has recently been sitting at Wave Rock, just around the corner from this site.

Within this work I wish to highlight the amazing efforts of people working to conserve our native landscapes and environments. Specifically the amazing team responsible for the rejuvenation of the Cooks River aside the Marrickville Golf Course. It's works like these that encourage species like the Sacred Kingfisher to return to our urban environments.
