Ripple Through

Georgia Hill

Ripple Through by Georgia Hill | Street Art NSW

The artist worked with Ashfield & District Historical Society, children at Ashfield Public School and other local residents over many months, through conversation, drawing workshops and drop in sessions, to develop this pattern of bespoke metal louvres.

The artwork references swimming, pool features and a sense of depth. It also explores the notion that facilities such as Ashfield Aquatic Centre are continuously evolving and layered sites of community connection, interaction, history, memories and ideas - and that water is something that truly connects us in our human needs, interactions and environments.

The work is tucked at the rear of the Aquatic Centre, with the sign painted in a small open area. A list of all the students who were involved in the work are shown around the perimeter of the sign.
