Painted as part of the establishment of the Urban Renewal and Heritage Conservation Program to develop urban areas with sustainability and quality of life in focus. The artwork from left to right represents the journey of the province since the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1990 to the establishment of the Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone, through to the development of Clark Airport City.
In the mural, the people’s imagination and determination, depicted in hot air balloons and paper planes, are propelled to the skies, transforming into aircrafts taking flight from the crown jewel of the CCAC: the Clark International Airport (CRK), rising just where the two walls meet, its iconic structure symbolizing the foundational strength on which the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) would build the new Clark Airport City—the premier global civil aviation logistics hub of the Philippines.
Heralding the seven flagship projects that would build the Airport City, the second wall pays homage to the history and culture of Pampanga.
The region’s iconic giant lanterns light up the rising developments and a cast of seven groups who symbolically reference the history of Clark. An American officer, Filipino air force pilot, and Japanese soldier look back on Clark as a converted military base.
Aviation workers give tribute to airline staff, ground crew, and personnel who cultivated the new industry when the base became a civil aviation complex.
Athletes reference the rise of sports complexes in New Clark City as spaces of social and national development. Frontliners depict the region’s indomitable service and determination during the COVID-19 pandemic. Aetas honor the indigenous people who form part of the pride and heritage of Pampanga. The mural is a visual rendezvous of the leaders whose visions shape the Airport City and all the people and staff who give it life and vibrancy.
Tagpuan is a story of triumph and transformation, a testament to the strength of a community that aspires, imagines, and builds together. In this collective solidarity, dreams take flight, cities grow, and the nation thrives.
