A depiction of the heritage of Kampong Glam, which was established as a shipbuilding and trading hub prior to the reclamation efforts of the Beach Road waterfront. Many ships can be seen in this artwork, including one being assembled with bark from the Gelam tree, which the precinct thought to have derived its namesake from.
